Syed Faisal Bukhari

Syed Faisal Bukhari (born on August 9, 1963) is a Pakistani film and television director, producer, and cinematographer.

Television 1998-

After leaving college, Bukhari began working in television. He vetured in to directing with help from a friend and directed his first drama Paranda which aired on PTV television network in Pakistan. The drama was not a success in Pakistan and Bukhari left television.

In 2004 he re-entered in to television and began directing a second drama titled Mehndi Walay Haath. The drama aired on Geo TV in January 2005 and finished running in 2009. The drama was commercially and critically successful and Bukhari was praised for directing an expensive drama. The drama featured Saira Khan who portrayed a deaf girl, Ahsan Khan who had portrayed her husband and Kashif Mehmood as a supporting actor. The drama featured various actors with Saira Khan being portrayed by different actresses after she left the drama. The drama was set in Punjab and is one of Pakistan's most expensive dramas of all time.

He wrote and directed the Geo TV family drama Safaid Posh in 2003.

Film directing

After the success of Mehndi Walay Haath, Bukhari began working on his second film titled "Bhai Log". The film was released in September, 2010 with Moammar Rana, Javed Sheikh, Nadeem, Meera, Noor, Saima Noor, Babrak Shah and newcomer Shamoon Abbasi in lead roles. The film is one of highest-budget films in Pakistan and Bukhari commented that for the film they used "Good camera equipment and made sets" for a professional feel. The film was a commercial and critical success in Pakistan, especially the soundtrack of the film. Bukhari is working on his second film as of October, 2010.

Pakistani actress Mona Laizza has confirmed she is working on Bukhari's Sultanat opposite Javed Sheikh and Ahsan Khan. She also confirmed she would be doing an "item song" for the film and it also features several Indian actors. The film is an action film about the underground world and is another expensive-budgeted film. The film also includes several Pakistani and Indian television actors and actresses. Laizza and Zainam Qayyum would a do item number for the film.
